Saving money in the cleaning isle
I have a real problem with chemical cleaning supplies. There are several reasons for this. One, we have a septic tank so I have to be very careful what I dump down the drain (did you know that we don’t even have a garbage disposal for this reason?) Two, I have celiac disease and we maintain a gluten-free household – you’d be surprised how many household products contain wheat derivatives. Lastly, I just don’t like chemicals and I don’t see a need for them. Our grandparents didn’t have fancy tub cleaners and toilet cleaners and sink cleaners and four brands of laundry detergent. If I bought everything in the cleaning isle I’d need a truck to drive the stuff from room to room! I am all about simplicity when I clean. As and added bonus, I save thousands of dollars a year by making my household cleaners. It’s really not difficult and you never run out of anything. Give it a try!
