So today we had quite a surprise.  We opened the box this morning to find a baby chick!  We let a broody hen sit on eggs for a few weeks but really didn’t think any of them would hatch.   We moved mama, baby, and the remaining 7 eggs, to a private suite in the barn for a few days.   We didn’t have the benefit of a mama hen last time around so we are learning quite  a bit about baby chicks.
